Your growth journey deserves intentional support. Whether you’re craving transformation in your relationships, your mindset, or your life’s direction, coaching creates the space to rediscover your worth and take aligned action. But as you consider working with a coach, you might wonder: Is online or in-person coaching best for me? Whether you choose online or in-person coaching, both options create space for powerful emotional freedom and transformation.

The Benefits of Online Coaching

If you are like my friend Charlotte, your calendar is packed with appointments, tasks, and reminders. Trying to meet up with her is like an act of congress and usually means making plans weeks in advance. Having a packed schedule can also make finding time for therapy or coaching challenging. This is when online sessions become the solution. You can log in from wherever you are, making it easier to find the time for self-care and growth.  I’m here to help you grow, and that means meeting you where you are going to be most comfortable.

Online sessions make it easier to stay consistent. Traffic jams that would cause you to be late? Not an issue. Bad weather that makes it unsafe to drive? No problem. A meeting ran late that would have cut into your travel time? Not when you can have your online session from anywhere. You have to travel for work, but your flights were delayed. Good news, we can meet for our session as long as you have a digital device. This flexibility means you can stay consistent with your sessions, no matter what life throws at you.

The Benefits of In-Person Coaching

Meeting with your coach or therapist in person can give you the personal connection you need to feel comfortable. Being face-to-face in the same room allows for a traditional relationship-building approach. You can feel the energy in the room and see the body language of the therapist or coach that you are meeting with. It’s important to choose someone who is going to give you their full attention and be receptive to what you are sharing with them. Therapy and coaching aren’t about placing blame. It’s about finding a solution to your struggles. In-person sessions can help validate that you have chosen the right professional to help you with your personal growth journey. Building the trust you need to open up and feel vulnerable can also be easier. When clients come to my office for their therapy sessions, they are in a calm, dedicated space. Life’s distractions are left at the door, and we can focus on the problem.

There’s something to be said about creating rituals for yourself. I practice this in my personal life. I exercise, teach yoga, and regularly check in with myself mentally through manifestation. For some of my clients, meeting with me in person is a part of their self-care rituals. Coming to my office for an in-person session creates a ritual for them that signifies its importance. There is also a level of accountability to it. Similar to meeting a personal trainer at the gym, meeting with a therapist in person holds you accountable.

How to Decide What’s Best for You

I have travelled my own journey to become the strong, confident woman I am today. You have your own journey to take, and I’m here to help you find the path. The first step is deciding the best way to receive guidance. If you are constantly on the go or have a packed schedule, then online coaching may be a better fit. We can virtually meet wherever you are and schedule it for what works best for you.

Another thing to consider is what makes you comfortable. While some people prefer meeting in person, others feel more comfortable meeting digitally. By putting physical distance between us, they are able to open up and be more vulnerable and honest. Not sure if this applies to you? Think about what feels more supportive to you. Is it the physical presence of someone being next to you? Or, is it the other person’s emotional availability? Your answer will help you determine whether online coaching will be effective for you.

Lastly, you can’t discount practicality. Sure, it would be nice to find a therapist or coach who is right around the corner. However, in today’s modern world, technology makes it possible to find a therapist anywhere in the world. Finding someone who is the right fit is important, rather than being physically nearby. Online therapy and coaching let you choose someone who is across the city or the country.

Hybrid Possibilities: The Best of Both Worlds

Life can be messy. The best-laid plans are often upended as life’s unpredictable events get in the way. Don’t let that stop you from taking care of yourself! Instead of being rigid in your journey, consider a hybrid approach to your sessions. That way, you can stay consistent with your sessions without having to conform to a plan that doesn’t fit your lifestyle. For many couples, a hybrid approach of in-person and online coaching is what works best. By meeting my clients where they are, we are better able to create a customized plan for healing. It also ensures they continue to make progress.

Your Growth, Your Way

Growth doesn’t come from choosing the “right” format. Whether you’re drawn to the presence of in-person connection or the ease of online support, therapy is a sacred space to come home to yourself.
